How is the Program run?

Each day at camp is designed to provide a fun, hands-on fishing experience in a safe and structured environment. Our prime fishing spots are just minutes from the dock, allowing campers to maximize their time on the water while enjoying typically calm conditions.

Daily Schedule:

🛠️Gear Up & Prepare – Campers start the day by prepping their rods, rigs, and bait, ensuring they are ready for a successful fishing trip.

🎏Boat Safety & Departure – A quick review of safety equipment and boating rules helps reinforce good habits before we set out on the water.

🎣 Fishing Adventure – We travel to the day’s target fishing grounds, where campers put their skills into action, guided by experienced instructors.

🐟 Catch Handling & Best Practices – Throughout the trip, campers practice proper fish handling, learning when to release a catch and how to respectfully harvest fish when appropriate.

🚤 Return & Fish Preparation – After docking, campers gain hands-on experience in cleaning and preparing fish for the table, reinforcing both skill and respect for the sport.

While our focus is on the thrill of fishing and the overall experience, we typically keep only a few fish each week, promoting conservation and responsible angling.

campers will learn:

🎣 Fishing Fundamentals – Master casting techniques, knot tying, and proper rod handling.

🐟 Fish Identification & Habitats – Discover Long Island’s diverse marine species and where to find them.
🌊 Marine Conservation & Ethics – Learn responsible fishing practices, catch-and-release techniques, and the importance of protecting our waters.
⚓ On-Boat Fishing Experience – Gain hands-on experience fishing from a boat, including baiting hooks, reeling in catches, and handling fish safely.

🧭 Navigation & Boating Basics – Understand essential boating safety, reading the water, and how to locate the best fishing spots.

With guidance from an experienced Fishing Captain, kids will develop patience, teamwork, and an appreciation for nature, all while making new friends and unforgettable memories on the water! No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll provide the rest!
